For this work I got up close and personal with the historical and modern depictions of Paganism and Witchcraft cultivated through fear and misunderstanding. Majorly seen as dark, evil beings with connections to the Devil and true evil, much of the corresponding visualisations of these people cultured and spread throughout history follows these themes, misleading and inaccurately presenting these human beings.
Almost to poke fun at the sheer absurdity of these depictions, I wanted to explore how these mysterious individuals could be presented but with an updated, accurate spin to allow their voices to be heard. While retaining the stigmatic fear and uncertainty to almost confuse and play with the viewers understanding of what they are seeing. Like everything in our world, all aspects are connected, from the trees to the seas, from my images to reality, everything has basis in experienced reality and historical documentation.
